In 2022, the Gavin Foundation will be opening its first substance abuse treatment facility exclusively for women!
The Gavin Foundation is embarking on a groundbreaking project by opening Eileen’s House in Lower Mills with a goal to open doors to women recovering from substance use disorder in 2022. Eileen’s House will be a 30-bed facility that, as a former convent at St. Gregory’s, has a rich history of housing women. The house will serve women ages 18+ in Greater Boston who are recovering from substance use disorder. These women who have experienced physical and mental trauma through their addictions desperately need a special place that offers professional, women-focused services to support their recovery.
Each woman will have equitable access to comprehensive care and have the chance to share their experiences of motherhood, children, and women-specific issues. Following their time at the house, the women will be prepared to re-enter their family lives and society. Eileen’s House will provide each woman service at no cost, a team of licensed addiction professionals and staff, a full continuum of individual and family support services, family reunification and coaching, case management and recovery support, and placement in job training programs.
